The Waterman Mega Bertha Fuel Pump designed with 4 gear sections has a maximum volume output of 116 GPM. Though to our knowledge no team has ever attempted to utilize this much volume, the capability
does exist. While most teams typically run this fuel pump at approximately 600 PSI, the Mega Bertha sees amuch higher pressure at and during shut down. Each set of gears utilize a 10 tooth design with a 9 degree offset, this equates to 40 individual pickups for each revolution of the pump, which in turn produces a smooth efficient fuel flow.
The Mega Bertha fuel pump, and it’s predecessor Super Bertha, have won twenty-seven (and counting) of the last thirty NHRA Top Fuel and NHRA Funny Car Championships with Tony Schumacher and John Force leading the charge.
WRC'S "STANDARD" SPRINT FUEL PUMP
The WRC "STANDARD" Sprint Fuel Pump is engineered to withstand the punishment of competitive Sprint Car Racing. This fuel pump is designed and machined from forged aluminum, and houses machined steel shafts and precision lapped gears. Each fuel pump is equipped with an adjustable or "SWIVEL" flange. After mounting the fuel pump, the flange clamp bolt can be loosened to allow for easy rotation and alignment of your fuel pump. Simply re-tighten the flange clamp bolt once the fuel pump has been properly positioned. Over the past several years great advancements have increased cylinder head efficiency by 25% to 35%. Shouldn't your fuel system deliver an additional 25% to 35% in fuel volume to compliment these increases? WRC is ready for the new millennium with our State of the Art, "ULTRALIGHT 2000" Sprint Fuel Pump. We've taken the same Sprint Fuel Pump our customers have come to rely on year in and year out, for low maintenance/high performance dependability, and made some amazing cosmetic changes. We've not only intricately scalloped the front cover, pump body, and swivel flange, we've even rifle bored the shafts. When combined these changes equate to not only a substantial reduction in weight but a new sleeker look for the WRC "ULTRALIGHT 2000" Sprint Fuel Pump. But remember, these changes are only cosmetic; this pump has the EXACT internal workings as its predecessor, so you know you're bolting on a product with a proven track record. And That's Not All! The "Manifold Style" option that has become so popular with WRC customers that it has been incorporated right into this new "ULTRALIGHT 2000" design. SPRINT Fuel Pump Installation Instructions
Standard Rotation (Clockwise)
When mounting the WRC Sprint Fuel Pump for Standard (Clockwise) Rotation, the pump body offset should be to the right of the mounting flange. When in this position, the top -8 Port is the fuel outlet and the bottom -8 Port is the fuel inlet. (pump mounted on front of engine) The two -6 Ports in the upper-right position and the upper-left position are on the pressure side and may be used for Main Jet or Hi-Speed Check Valves. The two-6 Ports in the lower right position and the lower left position are on the suction side and may be used for fuel return or plugged.
NOTE: The tolerances in you WRC Sprint Fuel Pump are extremely precise. Disassembly of your pump may change these tolerances and lead to excessive pump wear.
Waterman Racing Components warranties each pump against all defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 6 months. Any attempt to service or repair pump by customer voids any remaining warranty
