This accumulator may be used in conjunction with your oiling system to maintain a constant pressure when there may be an interruption in the oiling system pick-up. This self-charging system is used by many Ford Focus Midgets to maintain constant oil pressure if there is any interruption at the oil pump pick-up in the pan. Air is inserted in one end pushing the internal piston to the open end. The oil pressure will then will then push the piston the opposite way, compressing the air to equal the final oil pressure. Should there be a pressure drop, the compressed air will help maintain constant pressure. |
